In short
- Judge the price on the whole treatment plan, not per tooth.
- Preparatory work (fillings, root canals, gum treatment) affects the total.
- Prices given without an examination and X-rays are usually not final.
- Ask for a written, itemised plan to compare quotes fairly.
What affects the price?
- The number of teeth and their position (front or back)
- The material: zirconia, E-max or veneers
- The current condition of the teeth: decay, old fillings, fractures or root canal needs
- Gum health and any gum treatment needed beforehand
- Whether bridges or implants are needed for missing teeth
- The lab process, temporary crowns and try-in appointments
Why can’t a final price be given without an examination?
For crowns to be healthy and long-lasting, the tooth and gum underneath must be healthy. Decay or a root canal need seen on an X-ray changes the plan, and therefore the cost.
Information based on photos is an initial assessment; the final plan and price are confirmed after the examination.
What to check when comparing quotes
- Does the quote state which teeth receive which material?
- Is preparatory treatment included or separate?
- Are temporary crowns, try-ins and check-ups included?
- Are the number of appointments and the total time stated?
- Are you speaking directly with the dentist who will treat you?
For patients travelling to Turkey
Dental treatment in Turkey can often cost less than in many European countries, but the decision should consider the scope of the plan and the length of your stay, not only the price. Zirconia crowns need at least two appointments because of the lab stage.
